Ostim Technical University

Ostim Technical University was founded in 1993 by the Ostim Cooperative and is located in the capital of Turkey, Ankara. The university has put a goal for itself to become an “industrial university”. Ostim Technical university has strong relations in industry, society, and in the business sector.  The university is considered one of the third-generation universities, because it integrates education and training. It pays great attention to graduating students who have high skills after training and are very well-qualified.

The mission of the university is to provide education and research facilities in accordance with international standards to their students. Particularly, in the fields of training and design with the latest manufacturing technologies. The university wants its graduates to be fully equipped with knowledge of the business world and develop soft skills such as being innovative, self-confident, embracing human values, and building high cultural awareness. 

Ostim Technical University consists of a total of 3 main faculties (Faculty of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Economic & Administrative Sciences). There are vocational schools as well that include departments of Marketing, Digital Media, Information Security, Mechanics, Electronic Technology, Cybersecurity, etc. 

The university also has established an Ostim Technopark which provides a platform for designers, entrepreneurs, and students to come up with prototypes along with research and development studies. A lot of workshops also take place there that further help the students in honing their skills. The language of instruction at Ostim Technical University is English, so the students can pursue their degrees with ease as well.

Mission

Campus

Situated in Ostim, the university is the largest small business manufacturing hub in Ankara. The campus is surrounded by more than 15,000 enterprises that contain 200,000 workers, 3 techno-parks and nine sectoral clusters. Additionally, the campus consists of open reading halls, student canteens, dining halls, theater and cinema halls. This shows that the university prioritizes students recreational needs as well. Furthermore, Ostim Technical University has inpatient health centers and facilities as well. 

Innovative Factory

Numerous workshops take place in Ostim Technopark. Additionally, one of the benefits of Innovative Factory is to produce products that benefit domestic and national production. Therefore, this is to bring the motivation and awareness to avoid wasting equipment and machinery and in turn shortening production times. Moreover, the production workshop consists of an area of 1000 m2 with more than 30 machines and tools including jigsaws, band and panel saws, welding machines, CNC, 5-way milling machine, robot platform with moving platform and many more. 

Technology Transfer Office

The mission of OSTIM Tech is bringing together the fast-changing needs of the country and creating a socio-economic value through the knowledge gained. All in all, the office focuses mainly on developing activities related to business and often aimed at motivating any cooperation projects between the university and the industry.
