Istanbul Medipol University

Istanbul Medipol university was established in 2009 by the (TESA) Foundation. Undoubtedly, it is one of the top universities in medical and health sciences and other specialties as well, which adopts modern technology in all its ports. There are three different campuses in separate locations in Istanbul. One is in Beykoz on the Asian side of Istanbul. The other one is in Kavacık and the third one in Haliç.

The university is an international research center as it contains several laboratories with modern university standards. It also has the largest simulation laboratory in Turkey. This helps dental students gain the necessary clinical skills during their education period. Moreover, what attracts attention from its academic staff is the presence of lecturers from different countries of the world.

Because they have achieved impressive success outside Turkey. Furthermore, there are about 9 hospitals are located in Istanbul, and one of these hospitals is the largest private hospital in Turkey. Students can do their practical training in one of these hospitals, or work with them after graduation. Students of the International Medical College through university agreements who have completed their fourth year of study can do university training at Harvard University and be observers of scientific research. It has a new and modern campus that meets all the needs of the student. Additionally, they also provide accommodation for the students.

There is also another campus for various specialties and postgraduate studies. All in all, Istanbul Medipol proves that its vision of providing the best education to the future leaders of the country is the way to move forward in the world.

The School of Medicine provides a brilliant environment for students who are interested in public health, basic science, health-oriented research, and clinical investigation. Istanbul Medipol University was founded in the year 2009 by Fahrehttin Koca who is the current Minister of Health of Türkiye, aims to be the leader in research and medical education.

Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University is a total of six years, along with one year of English language training. This degree trains future physicians to be fully equipped with skills and knowledge that they can apply in their clinical life. The basic science curriculum teaches innovative yet traditional techniques, with group seminars and laboratory exercises. The School of Medicine is located in the Kavacık Campus while the University Hospital in Bağcılar also provides practical training to the students. It incorporates 4 different departments (Dental Hospital, Cardiovascular surgery, General, and Oncology)

Istanbul Medipol University focuses on self-learning and teamwork in the students to better equip them for the practical world. The students are taught to be in contact with patients from the very start. Moreover, in the second year of education, student conferences, seminars, hands-on teaching, and patient activities are also added. Additionally, the formal clinical training of fourth and fifth-year students offers courses that are necessary for preparing them for post-graduate training. In the sixth year, the emphasis is on “internship”  and teaching medical decision-making and diagnostic reasoning.

The university also encourages students to do other research and clinical electives.

Istanbul Medipol University has contributed continuously towards science and technology as they have 12 research centers along with various laboratories. The university also offers ERASMUS, the AL-FARABI Student Exchange program, and the Mevlana Student Exchange Program.
