Istanbul Gelişim University

It was founded in 2008 by the Gelişim Foundation for Education, Culture, Health, and Social Development. The Foundation aims at establishing a global network of research and providing high-quality vocational education.

The University’s philosophy focuses on three points: the first is a university focused on success. Secondly, the university focuses on humanity, and the third is the focus on science in its learning environment. As a University of Development, the University considers its goal to be greater than the production of science. They believe it’s more than the acquisition of professional skills, and that the university has a much higher function. They definitely believe in making the students achieve big goals once they graduate from the university.

In its academic structure in the academic year 2015-2016, the University has 3 faculties, 3 institutes, 4 higher education institutes, and a vocational training institute. It is worth mentioning that the university, after evaluating a total of 53 programs by international committees of experts, has been accredited by several organizations such as AQAS, AHPGS, and PEARSON. These are German and British international organizations. The university is located in the Avcilar region in the European section of Istanbul. Within a campus suitable for the life of students, ideal and safe, and close to the residential complexes. It is located in a modern and quiet area near the Sea of Marmara.

Institute of Graduate Studies

The aim of the institute of graduate studies is to create proficient, ethical, responsible and creative individuals. This is by being a part of the development of technology and modern science. According to the academic ethics, there are high quality standard to support the collaboration among employees to motivate clear, concise and accountable management. 

Their vision is to become a well-known and prestigious institution that constantly evolve and provides productive services by using the modern technological advancements. Accredited by many organizations such as AQAS, AHPGS, PEARSON, the university provides quality education in all the departments of the institute. Furthermore, the language of instruction is in Turkish and in English, depending on the course.

The programs at Gelişim university are specifically designed to producing solutions to any environmental and global problems. Since the development of technology has brought about emphasis on research and development and has increased the number of innovations produced, there is a dire need of Masters in almost every individual’s profession life at the moment.

Some of the programs offered within the institute (Thesis or Non-Thesis) include, New Media, Communication and Journalism, Aircraft Engineering, Sports Management, Sociology, Psychology, Architecture, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Economics and Finance and many more. 

Gelişim University is the only higher education institution accredited from Europe with 65 programs. Additionally, it is the only Turkish university with the highest number of accredited programs. In this way, the cooperation with the 100 world universities help create bright futures for the students studying there. 

Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Gelişim University

The Radio, Television, and Cinema department’s goal is to raise and equip students with artistic and technical knowledge in the field of entertainment. There is no doubt that with advanced knowledge of design aspects and experience in all audiovisual cinema and broadcasting. It is an undergraduate program of a total of 4 years. Gelisim University understands the importance of studying the degree, as the media is an essential part of the modern world. We are constantly connected via mass communication, and the media provides news to every corner of the world. The policy of this major is to focus on the practical courses and theoretical courses of the subject.

It is a well-known and prestigious department at Gelişim University that is widely preferred by radio television and cinema students in Turkey. The aim of producing creative works in the industry can be seen as the graduates are fully equipped with all the necessary skills.
